Sue’s backing of the campaign to save community pubs has been reported in today’s News and Star.
Sue said: “Local pubs are the heart of our communities. I am proud that Labour has fought to support well-run community pubs and real ale breweries.
“We have called on the Government to introduce a statutory code to tackle the unfair relationship between Pub Cos who dominate the market and small business owners who run pubs.
“Labour will ensure that the new Pubs Code has teeth, to give communities the power to protect their local pubs from being bought up and turned into supermarkets, and we will tackle the rising costs faced by pubs by cutting and freezing business rates for small businesses.”
Sue’s support has been welcomed by Camra, the Campaign for Real Ale
